It started with a promise to my own parents

"Never put us in a nursing home."

My parents told me that during Covid. I took it seriously. Then I started thinking about all the other parents who feel the same way, and all the sons and daughters who lie awake wondering if Mom is still safe at home.

I'm an occupational therapist with 13 years of experience across many healthcare settings. Six years ago I started Mindful Living to bring therapy straight to the front door. I see how your parent really gets through the day. I find the risks a phone call can't show you. Then I help fix them.

Many older adults say "I'm fine" even when daily life has gotten hard. I understand that. Independence matters. My job is to protect it.

When you call Mindful Living, you work with me from the first visit to the last. I lead every home visit and therapy plan, and I work with older adults facing falls, weakness, memory changes and complex medical needs. I'm licensed in South Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska.

Outside of work, you'll find me with my husband and two boys on the golf course, the pickleball court or anywhere outdoors.

How I Care for Your Parent

Four beliefs behind every visit

01

Home is the best place to get better

Your parent's bathroom, kitchen and stairs are where the real challenges live. So that is where therapy happens.

02

Your parent's goals lead the plan

Cooking Sunday dinner. Getting to church. Gardening in the spring. I build every plan around what your parent wants to keep doing.

03

Respect comes first

Accepting help is hard. I listen, move at your parent's pace and treat their home and choices with care.

04

Small changes that last

We start with free and simple fixes, then build daily routines that keep your parent strong so progress sticks.
